L.E. Williams was a late bloomer to fine art. He never remotely considered it a career until a few years into his time at Mesa State College. It was around 2009, while working towards a degree in graphic design, he fell in love with painting and the idea of complete creative freedom. Lance came to be a student at Mesa State after living in Grand Junction since his elementary days. He was born in Colorado Springs in 1986 and except for a short time in Tucson, Arizona, has always called Colorado home. After graduating with a graphic design degree in 2011, Lance has been intent on improving his painting techniques to better share his perspective. His practice has ranged from adding characters to unwanted Goodwill prints to large scale, original works. His subjects and inspiration are rooted in surrealism and the landscape of the American west. Currently living in Grand Junction with his wife Zondra and dog, Ella, he strives to convey the dreams that flow from simply living in a beautiful world.
